It was a beautiful and sunny 47 degree morning to trek out to Staten Island to run the last of the NYRR Five Borough Half-Marathon Series. The Staten Island Half has traditionally been a PR out and back course and this year didn’t disappoint.
NBR had 33 runners compete and a whole lotta PR’s. Here are some of the highlights:
Allison Malecki, Daniel Mazzuchin, and Todd Zino all made the cut off to time qualify for the Local Competitive start of the NYC Marathon.
The Women’s Team placed third overall (we won medals!):
| North Brooklyn Runners | 8:18:09 | |
| Anna McCusker | 1:28:53 | |
| Allison Malecki | 1:34:53 | |
| Beth Rodgers | 1:42:36 | |
| Lindsey Schneider | 1:44:45 | |
| Christine Huber | 1:47:02 |
Anna McCusker – 1st place Women 30-34
Jen Daniels and Fernando Feria came all the way out to cheer us on showing awesome NBR team spirit.
NBR had a few unbreakable runners who ran both the Staten Island Half and the Get to the Point 5k in the same day: Aaron Lively, John Slaski, Karen Marmon, Kenneth Allen, and Misha Bittleston [there should be an award for doing that].

All in all it was a great day and a nice preview of how the Marathon Sunday commute will be. I can’t wait to see the Brightroom Photos for this race (mainly because for once I can’t find myself in any of the NYRR pics and I’m afraid I may have hallucinated running it so I need so see some proof. Ha =).
