Wednesday – Beginners’ Run
Time: 7:00pm
Distance: 2 miles
Pace: 12+ minute miles
Effort: Comfortable
Led by: Randy & Anna
Meet: Northside of McCarren Park Track

Hello all you beginner runners out there!  Come join us for a nice 2 miler every Wednesday at 7pm.  We usually run at 12+ minute mile pace but have two run leaders just in case anyone needs to go slower/ faster.  This run is open to runners of all abilities but mainly for those who are new to running or have never run before.

Hi, I am wondering if your beginner runs are still taking place. I currently run but would like to start increasing my milage. I am a beginner/adv. beginner. I can run 4M in 42ish minutes.

Hi Kelly! Yes, both the monday night 7pm advanced beginners run (3 – 4.5 miles @ 9 – 11 minute mile pace) and the wednesday 7pm basic beginners run (2 miles @ 12+ minute mile pace) are still going on every week. Hi…I’m wondering if this group would be a good fit for me. I’m an overweight 50-year-old who started walking a couple months back, walked/jogged a 5k in May, and am now adding more jogging (and by “jogging” I mean just *barely* more than walking!) and my goal is to jog a 3k in September. I like goals :-) I currently do *about* an 18-minute mile, mostly walking briskly with a few “minutes” of jogging interlaced throughout. I’d love the companionship and support of a group! Right now my dog is my “training partner” :-)

Could I do this “beginner run,” or am I not even at that level yet? I *can’t* “run” two miles straight. Not by a long shot.
