This February 10th North Brooklyn Runners will be holding its 3rd Annual Gala to celebrate its growth and continued community engagement in the North Brooklyn area. We’ve sky rocketed our membership, moved up to a NYRR category “A” team, had our highest attendance at many races, held more social events than ever, and seen many members PR by leaps and bounds. All around it was a great year for NBR and every member has a lot to be proud of.
To celebrate both the collective and member achievements of North Brooklyn Runners we encourage everyone to attend this year’s Gala: Track to the Future: Enchantment Under the Sea Dance. This year’s Gala will be themed by the 1980’s classic “Back to the Future” complete with 1950’s soundtrack and paper-mache’ fish on the walls. We even have some live musical numbers by special guests Gilly and her Achilles. The night will not only include dancing and libation but also the annual awards ceremony where outstanding club members are rewarded for, racing and fitness accomplishments, leadership, volunteering, and more. Also, make some room on your letterman jackets because this will be the debut of the long anticipated North Brooklyn Runners merit badges!
Hosting us this year is a cornerstone establishment of Greenpoint: Warsaw at the Polish National Home. This historic venue has a full ballroom with balcony and stage so we will have plenty of room to cut a rug. They are sectioning off half of the bar to us so don’t worry about having to fight your way to the front of the line. The cash bar will be open all night with reasonable prices of $5 – $7 for beer and well drinks. Also in honor of our unofficial team drink of choice: Jameson, club members can enjoy $5 Jameson & Gingers all night. In true Greenpoint fashion the kitchen will be open and offering perogies and other polish fare for purchase.
So come out, get fancy, have fun, and show your NBR pride at this year’s gala.
