September Runner of the Month: Jen McNamee

Jen first joined NBR in 2014 a few weeks after moving to NYC. "I thought joining the group would be a great way to meet people in the community and become a better runner." She has formerly been a Tigerwolves run leader for two years, a Tuesday Just South run leader for two years, and a Co-Social Coordinator for three years, and she is currently the Partnerships Coordinator for the club.

How she initially got into running?
I got into running after recovering from an achilles tendon rupture that occured playing college basketball. After an eight month recovery I was excited to be able to move, and have a new active challenge.

Favorite race distance?
My favorite distance is the marathon.

Best running memory?
Running the Boston Marathon the year after the bombings.

Favorite running route in NYC?
It's difficult to select a specific route. One of the best aspects of running is the continued exploration of new areas, sights, and experiences, so I'll never pick just one!

Favorite post-race food?
Burger & a craft beer.
